Hey Girl!
I’m so excited you’re here!
This is your first step to building a blog and turning it into your own online business! If you decide to start this journey, you’ll be giving yourself the ability to generate passive income and enjoy more freedom and flexibility in your life!
Let’s first start out by figuring out what you’re trying to get out of this:
- Are you aching to become a stay-at-home mom so you can spend more time at home or traveling with your kids and family?
- Are you currently a stay-at-home mom that may have to go back to work unless you start bringing in some money?
- Are you so over your current job, but don’t feel like you have the skills or will-power to completely jump ship and start a new career?
- Do you feel like there’s no real growth within your career and you’re going to be stuck living paycheck to paycheck forever?
- Do you just want some extra spending money so you don’t feel guilty buying those fancy shoes you’ll wear once a year?
Whatever your reason is, you’ve come to the right place.
If you want to start a business working from home, where you can make your own hours and grow it as big as you can imagine, blogging is it!
Within a few months of starting my blog as a stay-at-home mom, I was making over $4K a month. A little over a year, I was making more than my salary as an Occupational Therapist!
It’s been an amazing journey and I haven’t stopped there. My blogging income keeps climbing and I get more and more flexibility with my time.
Once you get a taste of the benefits of working for yourself, you’ll never turn back. The opportunities of having your own blog are endless and you’ll see how it can change your life.
So, what is a blog exactly?
A blog is a website typically run by one person that’s written in an informal or conversational style. YOU are the owner of that website and you can design, promote, and fill it however you’d like.
Blogs are usually based around one specific topic or can be a lifestyle blog with numerous related topics. You choose what and how you want to write, but typically the posts are written to help, inform, and assist your audience with any problems or challenges they may be having.
A common misconception is that a blog is just a type of personal, online journal for people to write down their thoughts and feelings. It can be that for some, but the limits to a blog are endless. The goal is to write for other’s interests and not yourself.
Once you have an established audience and traffic, you can monetize your blog by adding features that will make you money. This is when it starts to become a business.
The Benefits of Blogging
Having a blog is like every perfect scenario you could envision for your life, all rolled into one. Here are just a few of the reasons why you should start a blog today and not think twice about it.
- Blogging allows you to own your own business with VERY LITTLE start-up costs.
Think about the entrepreneurs who take out a business loan for hundreds of thousands of dollars. It could take years to pay that back if they ever do!
You can start a blog for less than $4 a month with Blue Host (one of the best web hosting and domain providers). That’s not a lot of money to lose in case things didn’t go the way you planned.
You may not be thinking of a blog as a business right now, but trust me it is. You will make more money blogging than you would at most other jobs and you work for yourself!
- You just need a computer and a dream.
As opposed to many other start-up businesses where you have to buy inventory or pay overhead costs for space and staff, all you need is a standard computer and a positive mindset to get started and pretty much through the life of your business.
Of course, you may invest in things down the road, but that’s entirely up to you.
- You DON’T have to sell to your friends
Who else has been approached by a long lost friend who tried to sell you a skincare product or weight loss supplement? It’s awkward and embarrassing to have to sell to your personal circles and I used to think that was the ONLY way to make money from home.
I was determined not to have to do that to maintain my dignity which is why I fell into blogging. It feels great to have started a business completely on my own where I didn’t have to get support from ANYONE else.
- Your success is ENTIRELY up to you
In a normal 9-5 job, you probably have a cap on how much you can earn. With a blog, the ceiling is endless.
You decide how much work and time you want to put in to determine how much you will make. Your income will gradually (or quickly) increase.
Once you decide that you are comfortable with the amount you’re making, your blog can essentially run on autopilot with the money still coming in. However, if you are determined to keep growing and scaling, you can work as hard as you can to get there.
spend your time more wisely
Have you ever wanted more time with your kids? Your husband? Your itty bitty babies?
Have you felt that pit in your stomach on Sunday night knowing that you have to wake up the next morning to do the whole rat race for another week?
Do you want to bake cookies with your kids on a Wednesday afternoon or watch Disney movies in your pj’s in bed with them until lunchtime?
Do you wish you had the flexibility and freedom to do what you want when you want, while still making an income?
You seriously can do all this with blogging!

It’s still work
I’m going to be real here. Of course, this sounds too good to be true and in some ways it is. The fantasy I’m describing doesn’t come easy.
Blogging is hard work at the beginning. There is a major learning curve to get started.
HOWEVER, it’s just hard in the beginning.
Once you have taken all the right steps and get your blog to a good point where you’re comfortable loosening the reins a bit, you can really step back and let the money roll in while you roll in the money.
Of course, the more you want to grow your blog, the harder you’re going to have to work.

Why I started a blog
I’m going to give you a little background on how I started out and maybe some of this will sound familiar to you.
I always dreamed of becoming a stay-at-home mom one day.
To be honest, that’s kind of how I thought I’d feel like I made it. It wasn’t becoming a top executive by climbing up the corporate ladder or spending my days in business suits and heels.
I felt like my moment of feeling so accomplished was quitting my job and being home with my kids.
It’s because that would mean I had a husband who could support me financially and emotionally and I’d have everything I need without having to work for it.
Seems like a silly dream, right? But it was mine.
The dream did become a reality, but not in the fairytale way I had thought. Of course, I loved being home with my babies. Their sweet cuddles were the highlight of my days.
But then they turned into toddlers and being a toddler mom is #nojoke
Cleaning up the messes around every inch of the house and having negotiations with a 2-year-old over what color socks she had to wear was exhausting and a bit degrading.
So I wanted to find another outlet to bring in some extra money for my family and get my mind off of Elmo and Megablocks.
When I found out about blogging, I was amazed to hear all of these success stories about stay-at-home moms making 6-figure incomes from a blog! I had a good feeling about it and dove right in.
Normally I hesitate with this stuff, but I knew that if I second-guessed myself I would never start. So I took the plunge and bought the domain.
I set my expectations veryyyy low because honestly, I didn’t know what to expect.
Were all these big-shot bloggers the .001%? Were they being entirely honest about their income from blogging? So I took all those large numbers with a grain of salt.
My original plan was just to make my money back and then within 15 months I would *hopefully* make $1K a month- enough to buy our groceries and have my extra spending money.
Well, I reached that goal within 4.5 months! I was in complete disbelief and it’s been all uphill from there! Within 10 months, I was making $4K/monthly and within 14 months, I was earning over $6K a month.
You can grow your blogger even faster than I did by learning all my tips and strategies that I wish I knew from the beginning!
So if you’re feeling the same way as I did, I hope this will help you decide that the time is NOW to start your blog.
Are you ready to get started on this journey and change your life too?
